This 55-year-old female from Murrieta, CA had breast cancer 3 years ago and underwent a bilateral mastectomy and attempted reconstruction by another plastic surgeon with tissue expanders. She, unfortunately, developed a postoperative infection and the right expander was removed. The patient was told that no further reconstruction was possible. She was referred to Dr. Gupta for another opinion. Dr. Gupta replaced both tissue expanders with a more appropriate size and shape and then completed staged tissue expansion and silicone gel implant reconstruction with 550 cc implants. These pictures were taken 4 months after surgery. The patient is very happy with her results and chose not to have any nipple reconstruction.
