This 17-year-old female from La Jolla, CA had significant breast asymmetrical development after puberty. She has abnormal right breast shape and an absent left breast. She was referred to Dr. Gupta for breast reconstruction. Although the treatment of choice for most plastic surgeons would be bilateral breast implants, Dr. Gupta wanted to reconstruct the breast with something much longer lasting than a breast implant given the patient’s very young age. He performed left breast latissimus flap reconstruction using an incision around the nipple and performed a right breast lift and reduction for symmetry. These pictures were taken 6 weeks after surgery. The patient is healing well and is very happy with her results.
