Breast Reconstruction Latissimus

This 51-year-old female from Escondido, CA underwent right lumpectomy and radiation therapy for breast cancer several years ago. She now has recurrent right breast cancer and decided to have bilateral mastectomy. Because the right breast tissues were quite scarred from previous radiation, Dr. Gupta performed latissimus flap and breast implant reconstruction of the right breast. He reconstructed the left breast with tissue expansion and silicone gel implant. The patient has an excellent result with soft, symmetrical breasts.
