Breast Reconstruction TRAM

This 48-year-old female from San Antonio, TX previously underwent right mastectomy for breast cancer four years ago. She had no reconstruction. She now has left breast cancer and is scheduled for left mastectomy. The patient was interested in bilateral breast reconstruction and was therefore referred to Dr. Gupta. Dr. Gupta performed bilateral breast reconstruction with microsurgical muscle-sparing free TRAM flaps and later nipple reconstruction. These pictures were taken 1 month after nipple reconstruction surgery, immediately following a tattooing procedure. That is why the nipple color is still dark. This will gradually fade with time.
