Breast Reconstruction TRAM

This 46-year-old female from San Marcos, CA was diagnosed with right breast cancer and chose to have right mastectomy. She wanted immediate breast reconstruction. She did not want any left breast surgery and wanted the right breast to match the left breast shape. Dr. Gupta performed immediate right breast reconstruction with a microsurgical free DIEP flap. Note the excellent symmetry to her left breast size and shape. These pictures were taken 6 months after breast surgery, one month after nipple reconstruction. The round patch of lighter skin on the right breast is the abdominal skin Dr. Gupta used to replace the breast skin removed during the mastectomy.
