Breast Revision

This 40-year-old female from San Diego, CA underwent bilateral mastectomy for breast cancer and had immediate reconstruction by another plastic surgeon. That surgeon placed 150 cc implants and told the patient it was impossible for her to have any larger breast reconstruction. The patient was very unhappy with her breast shape and size and therefore sought consultation with Dr. Gupta for breast revision. Dr. Gupta performed capsulectomy to remove scar tissue from both breasts and performed tissue expansion to create an adequate tissue pocket large enough to fit a bigger implant. He eventually reconstructed the breasts with 300 cc silicone implants to restore breast symmetry and natural shape. The patient is now very happy.
